The TODA KOGYO Group has drawn up its Quality Policy on the basis of the Toda Spirits, which consist of six principles on manufacturing. The policy stipulates that we will carry out continuous activities for enhancement to provide quality that achieves customers’ trust and satisfaction. We carry out quality assurance activities based on this policy.
Through these activities, we aim to be a vital partner for customers and suppliers.
To achieve this, we believe it is necessary to engage in quality assurance activities that encompass not only TODA KOGYO but the entire supply chain.

Assessing and Responding to Supply Chain Risks

Specific manufacturing sites of TODA KOGYO have acquired IATF 16949 certification. IATF 16949 is a specialized standard for the automobile sector.This standard requires the development of a quality management system that leads to the prevention of defects and the reduction of inconsistencies and waste in the supply chain.When we start to do business with a new supplier, we therefore investigate their certification status with regard to ISO 9001, IATF 16949 or ISO 14001, depending on the products involved, and commence transactions after conducting a second-party audit or similar activities.Thereafter, as with the suppliers with whom we already do business, we conduct various assessments on quality, safety, environment and other matters based on performance.When issues arise, we identify the fundamental cause, verify corrective action reflected in management systems, and work with suppliers to confirm the validity of the action taken.Some suppliers may be given specific requests from TODA KOGYO, or asked to develop and implement a quality manual with the ultimate goal of building a quality management system aiming for certification under or compliance with IATF 16949 standards.For details, please check the Quality Requirements for Suppliers distributed by the Procurement Department.
